Basic Reenactment Costume Dress
Ladies
The long full skirt, 120+ inches around at hem of the dress, can be warn with just petticoats, without a hoop for the prairie look, or with a small to large hoop for Civil War, Colonial, etc.
All ladies dresses are made 43 inches long from the waist to the hem, and can be shortened with decorative tucks that were used through out history to decorate and size clothing. Length measurement must accompany payment for free hemming.
The sleeves are cut long and full with an elastic gathered cuff that can easily be changed for a different look.
Some Examples of how you can change your look with the sleeves:
1. Push the bottom of the sleeve up under the top of the sleeve and you have a sectioned slightly puffy sleeve.
2. Place add on bell sleeve over the long sleeve and push the dress's long sleeve up under the bell sleeve.
3. Easily add cuffs, over or under the wrist of the sleeve.
4. Tie the full sleeve with ribbons above and below the elbow, for a sectioned slightly puffy sleeve.
Our Basic Dress is made from a lightweight cotton blend fabric, to help ease the heavy layers associated with reenactment clothing, and for ease in care. (Wash in cold water, light iron if needed.) All dress seams are finished with turning and/or surging.

Basic Re-enactment Dress Costume

So many times while the kids are in school, there are opportunities for dressing up in costume. Unfortunately dressing up in period costume can be a costly experience when purchasing costume after costume.
We designed this dress to easily change for different living history costumes, for different times in history.
By adding one of your Add-on sets, your child's dress can go from Prairie to Civil War, to Pilgrim, to Colonial in a matter of minutes. They can be purchased all at one time or one at a time as needed.
We suggest that you order a size larger then you need at this time (make sure you send measurements) and have us take it in. We will mark the seams with ribbon for easy resizing, and hem it with growth tucks, so that the dress fits for a couple of years.
With this versatile dress and Add-Ons, your child will always be prepared to join in an exciting activity, like a parade, caroling, a play, maybe a reenactment or history centennial that comes to your town.
